Cala lo Ribellet or Cala Trèbol

place 43860 L'Ametlla de Mar, Tarragona, Catalonia

Cala lo Ribellet or Cala Trèbol, like Platja de Calafat and Cala Calafató, lie in the north of L'Ametlla de Mar, in the Terres de l'Ebre. They are beaches and coves of fine sand mixed with small pebbles, even though they are part of a steep, rugged coast cut by ravines.

More information

Small in size, about 130 metres long by 25 wide, Cala lo Ribellet holds the Blue Flag quality seal, has a shower and daily cleaning, can be reached on foot or by car, and offers visitors a small car park for about 50 vehicles, although it is not signposted. Cala lo Ribellet forms a trio with Cala Trèbol and Cala de Febral, next to the Les Tres Cales housing estate, hence the name (“the three coves”). Set between the Mediterranean Sea and a pine wood, they combine fine golden sand with small pebbles, as well as the rocks that shelter them.

The unspoilt look of this beautiful cove is reinforced by the imposing presence of the Tossa de l’Alzina, a peak of nearly 700 metres that is part of the Serra del Coll de Balaguer, in the municipality of Vandellòs, and crowns Les Tres Cales.

This link between sea and mountain means the Les Tres Cales area is part of L'Ametlla de Mar’s coastal path (camí de ronda) and the GR 92 hiking route. If you like water sports, Cala lo Ribellet is only one kilometre from the Club Nàutic de la Urbanització de Calafat, where you will find a wide range of ideas for making the most of your stay in the area.
