Torre de la Carrova
Here we want to highlight a historic site away from the city. The medieval Torre de la Carrova stands on a small hill beside the Ebro, a few kilometres upstream from the town centre of Amposta, a strategic point for controlling river traffic.

More information
Its sturdy 14th-century structure makes it one of the most interesting examples of defensive fortification on the lower Ebro. From 1443 until well into the 19th century it belonged to the Convent de Benifassà, after passing through the hands of several owners, until in 1991 it was restored and bought by Amposta Town Council.
Next to the tower there is a picnic area, close to the Font de la Carrova and the remains of a Roman villa undergoing archaeological reconstruction.
