Les Vinyes del Convent

The Les Vinyes del Convent winery is in Horta de Sant Joan, at the foot of Els Ports Natural Park.
Guided by Elies Gil, the sixth generation of winegrowers rooted in Horta de Sant Joan, we will visit a winery created as a tribute to a family devoted to the world of wine for over two centuries. We will delve into the passion and the project, par excellence, of the winegrower. We will visit a winery with the most advanced technology in the sector (the Bucher Vaslin machine, to select the best grapes, the Inertys press that protects the must from oxidation, and the stainless steel tanks with full jackets and isothermal), used to make our wines.
You will taste wines made with native and non-native varieties, the most outstanding of which is Garnatxa. We will see five varieties: blanca, negra, peluda, tintorera and garnatxa alta, a variety that had almost disappeared, found only in Horta, and which we have painstakingly recovered at Les Vinyes del Convent.
The winery visit and wine tasting can be complemented by discovering the village of Horta de Sant Joan, with its narrow streets, huddled houses, Centre Picasso and the Ecomuseu dels Ports.
We also have a shop and wine "bar", with free entry during our opening hours.
