Platja de l’Estany Podrit

place Urbanització Racons 43860 Tarragona, Catalonia

Platja de l’Estany Podrit, in L’Ametlla de Mar, in the Terres de l’Ebre, is a little sheltered spot of fine sand and rocks on the path of the Mediterranean Path (GR-92), part of the coastal path (Camí de Ronda). It is therefore a small beach much visited by hikers who walk up and down this beautiful, rugged stretch of the Camí de Ronda, once used by the dreaded corsairs.

More information

Platja de l’Estany Podrit, a little over 60 metres long by about 15 wide, does not offer many services, apart from showers, so its occupancy is usually low, even in summer. Its setting, among pine woods, scrub and rocks, gives it the look of an unspoilt beach.

The waters of Platja de l’Estany Podrit have moderate swell and are very attractive to local anglers, who besides the local fish also come to catch hermit crab and green crab with a hook.

Platja de l’Estany Podrit is easily reached along an unpaved track. If you are going by car, you can always try to park at the start of the track.
