Platja de la Bassa de l’Arena
Platja de la Bassa de l’Arena, or del Nen Perdut, is the only beach in the Ebro Delta that admits dogs all year round, which makes it the best beach to visit with your pet. More than 3 kilometres long, by an average of 40 metres wide, Platja de la Bassa de l’Arena is divided into two quite distinct parts: the first 500 metres, in the south, next to Platja de Riumar, are open to dogs (and other pets); and the final part, bordering Platja de la Marquesa, is a nudist or naturist beach.
More information
Fishing and surfcasting are also allowed along the whole beach. Platja de la Bassa de l’Arena, flanked by the beaches of La Marquesa and Riumar, has fine golden sand and a small dune system that the wind keeps shaping and moving around. Very close to the beach is the Canal Vell pool, where you can climb onto a platform to watch the many waterbirds among the reedbeds of the Delta.
Although pets are allowed on the first part of the beach all year round and at any time of day, some basic rules apply. For example, pets must be kept under control at all times so they do not bother other people, and their droppings must be picked up. Dogs must also be registered and, if they belong to a potentially dangerous breed, they must be kept on a lead and muzzled.
Platja de la Bassa de l’Arena is one of the longest beaches in the Ebro Delta and can be reached by bike or by car, on the TV-3451 road; by the A-7 motorway, exit 39 L’Ampolla - Deltebre. By train, at L’Aldea, L’Ampolla and Camarles - Deltebre stations. And by intercity bus, with Hife.
