In-FCTA

In-FCTA is the Terra Alta Film Festival, which began in Bot (Terra Alta) in 2017 thanks to the actor Ivan Massagué, director of the first festival, and the local community group Sorolla't, with the collaboration of Bot Town Council, the Consell Comarcal de la Terra Alta and local bodies and private companies.

The aim of In-FCTA is to spread culture in a depressed area with limited access, by offering diverse, high-quality cultural formats.

More information

The organisers look for venues in the Terra Alta to promote a cultural format, audiovisual and film, that has always had a strong presence in the area but had lost the lustre of earlier times in recent years. In-FCTA therefore promotes the discovery, screening and dissemination of feature films of various themes and genres, and locally made short films through the short film competition held as part of the festival.

Alongside the film screenings and the short film competition, a series of activities to promote, inform and educate about cinema for children and adults take place before and during the festival.

If the intention is to grow interest in this art form among the population, it must be made available to adults, for their enjoyment but also to deepen their knowledge of cinema and create a space for reflection and dialogue about the format itself and, in turn, about the themes developed in the films shown. It must also be made available to children, so that they can get to know it, value it, make films and be moved by cinema.
