Platja de la Martinenca or del Ciment
Platja de la Martinenca, also known as Platja del Ciment, is in Alcanar, in the south of the Terres de l’Ebre. Sizeable, about 320 metres long by about 42 wide, Platja de la Martinenca has fine golden sand and calm waters, and is surrounded by vegetation, mainly holm oaks and dwarf fan palms.
More information
From the beach you can also see the outline of the low hills that cut across the Serra del Montsià like a stage set. Closed off to the east by the breakwater of the industrial port, Platja de la Martinenca usually has medium-to-high occupancy, despite being away from the centre of Alcanar. The main reason is its size and the services it offers, such as beach bars, sun lounger, parasol and pedalo hire, parking, toilets and showers, among others. There is also a range of restaurants, hotels and guesthouses a few metres away.
Water-sports lovers, and sailors in particular, have several options for an unforgettable day, as the Alcanar marina is less than 3 kilometres away
