Platja del Cap Roig
Platja del Cap Roig is one of the most emblematic beaches on the coast of L’Ampolla, in the Terres de l’Ebre, for the quality of its waters, the range of services it offers, and the ease of reaching it on foot or by car. It is also emblematic for its landscape, as it is surrounded by reddish rocks and lush vegetation dominated by pine woods and carob trees, and for its fine golden sand and easy entry into the water with no steep drop. In summer, Platja del Cap Roig offers a beach bar, showers and toilets, a restaurant-bar, hire of sun loungers and pedalos, and a lifeguard and rescue service, and it is adapted for people with disabilities. The beach also holds the Blue Flag quality certificate.
Platja del Cap Roig, about 190 metres long by 40 wide, also offers several options for water-sports lovers. You can windsurf here with no difficulty, and kayakers and canoeists are a common sight. These activities are centred on the nearby Club Nàutic L’Ampolla, which offers equipment hire, 433 moorings and courses at different levels. The family tourism offer is completed by the Cap Roig Resort residential complex, with state-of-the-art facilities and every kind of service.
Platja del Cap Roig is reached by the N-340 road or the A-7 motorway (exit 39 for L’Ampolla ). You can also come by train on the Tarragona - Tortosa line, stopping at L’Ampolla station. There is also an intercity bus, run by Autocars Carrera, on the Perelló - Tortosa line, which drops you nearby.
