Platja Baconé
Platja del Baconé, in L’Ampolla, in the south of the Terres de l’Ebre, is about 200 metres long by 70 wide. It is a small beach with a distinctive floor of round white and black stones, shaped over the years by the ebb and flow of the water, and which, they say, take on a pale tone on sunny days that spreads Mediterranean light into every corner.
More information
The beach lies beneath a series of cliffs, which also explains its particular floor. Platja del Baconé, which you may also see written as Platja del Baconer or Baconet, has calm waters and moderate occupancy. It is ideal for anyone looking for peace by the sea. It is also an access point for hikers, as the beach is part of the Mediterranean Path (GR-92).
The beach’s closeness to the town centre of L’Ampolla and the calm of its waters make it a much-prized destination for family tourism. At Platja del Baconé it is common to see anglers casting for sea bass, tuna and bonito, as well as people doing various water sports, thanks to the nearby Club Nàutic L’Ampolla, which offers windsurfing and water skiing as well as, of course, sailing. The club has 433 moorings for boats.
