Oysters

Oyster farming in the Ebro Delta began in the 1970s as a complement to mussel production. Oyster farming starts when the mussel harvest ends, around January or February, allowing a perfect rotation between the two molluscs.

In recent years, oyster production in the Terres de l'Ebre has expanded thanks to growing commercial interest in the quality of their flesh.

There are currently more than 100 farming rafts and 35 companies producing mussels and oysters.
