Carrova Archaeological Park

place Parc Arqueològic de la Carrova 43870 Amposta, Tarragona, Catalonia

The Carrova Archaeological Park, beside the Ebro axis (C-12), lets you visit two major monuments of the Terres de l'Ebre in one place.

On one hand, the remains of an important Roman villa that was active between the 1st century BC and the 5th century AD, an example of rural settlements of ancient times on the final stretch of the Ebro. The visit lets you discover the establishment's work area, specialised in fishing. On the other, a majestic Ebro watchtower dating from the 14th century which was, until the 19th century, an agricultural farm of the Cistercian monks of Benifassà.

Restored and fitted out for visits, its roof gives a magnificent panorama of the river and its valley.
