Trinxeres de Berrús (Berrús trenches)
The Berrús area, occupied by Republican troops from 25 July itself, was a position conceived with a twofold aim: to defend the Riba-roja d'Ebre bridgehead and to protect the rear of the Pobla de Massaluca plateau.

The Berrús trenches snake along the top of a steep ravine to control any access from the Riera de Berrús or the old road from Riba-roja d'Ebre to la Pobla de Massaluca (today's TV-7411). For this reason, the trench follows the classic zigzag design, but its depth varies greatly, with the most reinforced and advanced points in the firing pits with a field of fire over possible approaches.
The defensive system was complemented by a secondary trench that surrounds the highest point and protected the rear of the main trench.
