Les Pintures de Cabra Freixet
The Cabra Freixet rock paintings in el Perelló were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998. These paintings had a religious and magical value, as they are a clear reflection of how our most primitive ancestors lived and of the animals around them. Over time most of them have been lost, but a magnificent group of figures still survives, showing a hunter with a bundle of arrows in his hand, a goat and a deer. The paintings are estimated to be between 25,000 and 15,000 years old, which makes them the oldest in the area. They can be reached easily along a well-signposted route.
