Historic and Monumental Centres

Culture

In Terres de l'Ebre you can find beautiful town centres such as the medieval quarters of Batea, Arnes or Tivissa, or those of Arab origin such as the old town of Miravet, among others. In Tortosa, traces of the old Jewish quarter survive, with its network of narrow streets, along with a monumental complex declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest for its important representative buildings from various periods, from the Middle Ages to Modernisme. Of great historical and artistic importance too are the old centres of Ulldecona, with houses from the 15th to the 18th centuries, la Fatarella with its Ruta dels Perxes, and Horta de Sant Joan, with an architectural ensemble crowned by its Gothic church.
