The experience
The peaks of Els Ports give a unique character to the one-of-a-kind town of Horta. At the end of the 12th century, the settlers and the knight-friars of the Order of the Temple of Solomon built the medieval town and also the Marian sanctuary (later the Convent of Sant Salvador) on the hermit mountain of Santa Bàrbara, which towers over the rich farmland around it.
The medieval town of Horta and its convent are unique places to awaken emotions; as proof, one need only mention the vitality these lands gave to the universal painter, Picasso. As he said... "everything I know, I know from Horta"...
• Includes: Guided visit to the Town of Horta (medieval ensemble) and Picasso route - Church of Sant Joan Baptista - Centre Picasso – Ecomuseum (optional, to be chosen) - Convent of Sant Salvador.
